I’ll be honest Charlie, I had to read your piece twice. It took me two attempts to bring together the image and your words to make sure I didn’t miss what you were saying. Its a bold statement that somebody had to make. It’s an image that will certainly get people talking that’s for sure!! I look forward to your next image and have enjoyed your images on NHM WPY this week.
That is a powerful image and message. The video really makes us stop to think of our part. A pair of shoes at a time (and a billion other small items) can make a difference. It gives each of us an opportunity to impact the problem. Glad to see you are back writing. Don’t go away so long, okay? 😉
Desensitised as I’ve become, this image got through, maybe because I have a fondness for giraffes, maybe because I see the truth in your words, I’m not sure why, but I’m glad I found your work; thank you.
Thanks Charlie. Needed this. It's powerful and we do need these constant reminders to realise how much we consume. All we do is consume. This is beautiful and eerie at the time same time.
Nicely done. May I suggest too that there is hope too: as people *in general* become more secure, there is time available for consideration of impacts and some mitigating action.
I see animal life valued above human life almost everywhere and it’s haunting. I remember reading how Holocaust survivors watched dogs and cats being treated a million times better than they were being treated.
Your image reaches certain people who otherwise would not have paid attention to anything else about the topic because it centers on animals.

You’ve described what’s been on my mind, haunting me for years Thank you for using your talents to illuminate the truth.
Amazing work.
